Lynn Ratcliffe’s rhythmic compositions flow effortlessly across her dreamy botanical canvases. Her style merges abstraction with representation and has a looseness and ethereal quality that is achieved through many layers of washes, contrasted with gestural brushstrokes of floral and foliage details. Lynn achieves a unique depth and delicacy to her pieces through these techniques and approaches. Although her work has a contemporary edge, it also draws on inspiration from the Impressionists in particular Monet and Renoir, two of Lynn’s favourite artists of all time.
